Aboriginal Affairs is looking for a Senior Project Officer to work in our Newcastle office to support the Director to coordinate effort across NSW Government agencies.

About Regional Coordination Directorate
Regional Coordination Directorate has four regional offices and four sub-regional sub offices leading engagement with Aboriginal communities to support the establishment, development and effective operation of local community governance mechanisms, improve participation in local economies and facilitate more effective relationships between Aboriginal communities and agencies to improve the coordination, responsiveness and accountability of services.
About the role
As part of the Sydney – Newcastle Regional Team, the Senior Project Officer works across government agencies to facilitate partnerships to address Aboriginal Affairs priorities and broker solutions to matters requiring cross-agency collaboration with, and for Aboriginal communities within the Region. The role assumes a leadership role for the Aboriginal community self-governance and economic development, improves information flows, and works collaboratively to build capacity amongst Aboriginal governance bodies and achieve better outcomes.
To be successful in this role, you will be an experienced senior project officer with extensive experience in negotiation, community engagement and conflict management.
