Chief Executive Officer
Tharawal Local Aboriginal Land Council is seeking applications from motivated, enthusiastic and experienced people interested in its challenging yet rewarding role of CEO.
The position holder will provide an extensive range of assistance and support to the elected Board through the day – to – day management of Tharawal’s affairs in accordance with delegated authorities; provision of sound and accurate advice and the implementation of the Boards resolutions in a timely and appropriate manner.
The successful applicant will have demonstrable knowledge and understanding of the ALRA; the capacity to interpret and implement legislation and sound communication skills. An excellent level of organisational and management experience is essential; with experience with working with community controlled organised being an advantage. An understanding of accounting practices and principles along with some exposure to Land Dealings, Economic & Business Development practices and opportunities. A sound knowledge and appreciation of Aboriginal issues is required, and local knowledge and experience would be an advantage. A current Drivers’ Licence and willingness to undertake relevant police checks, including a Working with Children check is also required.
A salary package is available inclusive of an annual salary, superannuation contribution and access to salary sacrificing. The position will be primarily based at the LALC Cultural Centre in Couridjah, however the opportunity to establish satellite offices within the LALC’s land boundaries is available.
