The National Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Corporation Transport and Community Services (NATSIC) would like to offer your organisation the opportunity to submit an abstract for our third National Indigenous Transport Conference to be held on 14 and 15 May 2019 in Western Australia. The venue we have chosen to host this hugely popular event is the Perth Convention and Exhibition Centre.

Our theme for the Conference is “Transport Dreaming – Defining the Journey” and will focus on innovative transport solutions across areas that have significant impacts on the health, wellbeing, cultural obligations and social inclusion of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people and community across Australia.

Our Conference will feature participation by a range of service providers and Indigenous community organisations across a number of sectors including, but not limited to: education, social policy and practice, disability, service delivery, health, community and other areas of affordable, adaptable and flexible transport provision. The Conference content will also include strengthening and increasing equity and access to My Aged Care and the National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS) targeting transport related issues.

With the roll out of the NDIS across Australia, transport and transport related equity and access issues have become a hot button issue at all levels of government. Don’t miss out on this unique opportunity to participate in shaping the forward agenda of policy development and refinement in this sector!
